What are catches

Reply and post catches, and why HeyCatch does not post to Reddit or X for you.

What are Catches?#

Daily opportunities on Reddit, X and Threads where your product is genuinely relevant, with a draft ready for you to publish. They start arriving once you connect your account on that platform.

They come in two types. A Reply catch is an existing thread worth joining. A Post catch is a drafted post, written for a specific subreddit on Reddit. Threads gets Post catches only, because the platform gives us no way to reply to other people's posts.

One thing to expect on Reddit and X: Reply catches are filtered for quality, so you will not get one every day. Post catches depend on the account's step: on X they start at Regular, after the first week, and on Reddit at Insider, the last step of the warm-up line.

What is the difference between a Reply catch and a Post catch?#

A Reply catch is an existing thread worth joining. It shows the original post, the keywords it matched and a drafted reply, with a link straight to the thread. A Post catch is a drafted post for a specific subreddit, with a playbook panel showing the best times, what performs there, the tone to match and the rules to respect.

Some cards also carry small tags, for example no signups or first paying customer. Those are the signals that put the post in your feed.

Does HeyCatch post to Reddit, X or Threads for me?#

No, and that is deliberate. We write the post or reply, you publish it. Automated posting through the API is strongly associated with shadowbans, so we keep a human in the loop. Threads is the same: the catch gives you the text and a Copy button, and you publish it yourself.

Videos work the other way. Once Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Facebook is connected, a video you accept is scheduled and published for you. So the split is: Reddit, X and Threads you post yourself, the four video platforms we post for you.

Will you ever add auto-posting for Reddit?#

It is not something we are offering, and nothing else in HeyCatch will post to Reddit for you either. The manual step is what keeps accounts alive.

What we do instead is take the writing off you: the draft, the subreddit, the timing and the rules to respect are all in the catch, so publishing is a copy and a paste. Automatic publishing exists only for videos, on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook.
